Pikmin 2- Much better than the first       rating

I bought both games at once. The first game was short and easy to beat. With more types of pikmin and cave adventures, Pikmin 2 is a great sequel to the first game.
Fun, annoying, short, eh...       rating

Fun game. I like how they changed it so you don't have a day limit to finish the game, but there is still a time limit for each level. The annoying part is that now you have 5 groups of pikmin to watch over. Each one vulnerable to something while others aren't, which is very annoying to deal with. (you go to separate the groups to take only red, and the yellow, white, blue, and purple jump in the fire.. *sigh*). Short - there's only like 4-5 levels, and there's only so much you can do in a level (find treasures). Eh - You spend all your time in caves! and in caves, if you lose your pikmin you can't get more unless you leave the cave. (then of course you have to do the whole cave over with new pikmin that you just lost...[fun fun?]). As for multiplayer mode - When you 1st receive the game you cannot play multiplayer mode automatically. You need to go through a cave, beat a boss, and a key will pop out of him. That key makes it so you can play multiplayer mode. BUT! multiplayer mode is not a co-op campaign mode only a VS mode (which was a let down).
A Neglected Treasure From Nintendo's Vault       rating

The Nintendo Gamecube brought new graphics to old franchises but also introduced newer titles with promising results. Pikmin along with its successor Pikmin 2 are generally loved by Nintendo fan-boys because of its strategic gameplay with lovable characters and well thought out environments. Pikmin 2 does not disappoint. This game is what childhood imagination wishes it could be, taking a human appearing alien that is smaller than everyday bottle caps befriending strange plant like creatures that will do his (your) bidding for any task. Innovative may be an over-exaggeration but it certainly stands out from the countless, typical adventure games. Pikmin 2 is definitely for those who appreciate the art direction as well as the creative gameplay. It might not exactly be what you call hardcore gaming but it is enjoyable for just about everyone.
