Reviews WRESTLEMANIA 19 by: on: 01-Jun 2008 YESTERDAY ME AND MY COUSIN BRIAN WENT TO THE MALL. WE WENT TO GAMESTOP. BRIAN GOT DAY OF RECKONING 1 AND I GOT WRESTLEMANIA XIX. THEN WE CAME BACK TO MY HOUSE TO SEE WHICH GAME WAS BETTER. I THOUGHT WRESTLEMANIA 19 WAS BETTER AND BRIAN THOGHT WRESTLEMANIA 19 WAS BETTER TO. I LOVED DAY OF RECKONING I TO AND IT IS BETTER THAN DAY OF RECKONING 2 BUT WREASTLEMANIA 19 IS BETTER. I LOVED REVENGE MODE. THE GAME IS AWESOME. Royal Rumble 2003 by: on: 03-Jan 2008 The new graphics presentation takes the Royal Rumble to a new level. The revenge mode is great, and the levels are available for exhibition after you win. There is also King of the Ring where you can challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship (Triple H) or the WWE Championship (Brock Lesnar). Arenas are Raw, Smackdown! Royal Rumble 2003, Wrestlemania 19 & SummerSlam 2002, you don't even need to unlock them. A farewell to wrestling games, you will be missed by: on: 03-Jan 2008 The Good: This game is really fun, great graphics and game play. The roster is up-to date for 2003 with The Rock, Goldberg, Scott Steiner and alternate attires. Big main events and hard-hitting action. The revenge mode is cool and gives you a chance to wrestle outside the ring. There is also King of the Ring where you can challenge for the World Heavyweight Title (Triple H) or the WWE Championship (Brock Lesnar). The Bad: The only arenas are Raw, Smackdown! Royal Rumble 2003, Wrestlemania 19 & SummerSlam 2002. Also, a few superstars are missing like Kevin Nash. Overall: You can play main event matches but there is not enough arenas to make this a big winner. There is no real season mode, but it doesn't hurt the game. There is also some voice-overs here and there. Revenge mode. The only reason you'll ever want to play this game. by: on: 12-Nov 2007 With regards to improvements from previous games, this one was a great step from the massive downgrade that was Wrestlemania X8. Where Wrestlemania X8 had a limited roster, and an even more sharply limited Create a Wrestler feature and storyline, Wrestlemania XIX improves greatly with roster, and CAW. The action does not change too much, and it's pretty much an average game from there. What makes this better than average is the lack of a storymode, in its place being Revenge mode. Revenge mode, on its own, is the sole reason this game ever deserves more than some fleeting play until the next year's release of Day of Reckoning. What's better than being hired by Stephanie McMahon to ruin Wrestlemania by killing dozens of innocent security guards, construction workers, dock workers, and the occasional WWE superstar by throwing them off the top of an incomplete skyscraper, or off the edge of a cargo ship? I am NOT JOKING when I say one mission involves you having a contest with Chris Jericho or Eddie Guerrero or some other random superstar to see how many construction workers you can throw off the edge of a roof in 10 minutes. While some missions, fun in themselves, consist of killing (or "eliminating") as many security guards as you can in an amount of time, or making them bleed, or destroying scenery, some missions give you additional challenges, such as trying to break through a metal door on a freight ship to crash it into port, or climbing up construction machinery to escape dock workers, or jumping from hanging chains over rushing traffic to try and reach and kill a superstar standing atop a high ledge by throwing him into traffic. Somehow, despite killing between 30-50 people, utterly destroying a WWE shopping mall, smashing up a freighter, blowing up an incomplete skyscraper, and bashing and smashing expensive cars in a WWE parking lot, this whole conflict is settled by wrestling Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania. Oh, and the security guards, construction and dock workers are all trained in basic wrestling moves like dropkicks, piledrivers, Mongolian chops, and knee smashes. Once you get tired of Revenge mode, the game itself becomes pretty obsolete and ordinary. But soon you get the urge to play it again. The best part is you don't have to use CAWs but can use other WWE wrestlers in Revenge mode. Wrestlemania XIX gives you the opportunity to do what 50 minutes of pounding on an opponent never gave you in any previous game or future game: kill people. View All ReviewsView All Sports Games |
